Sierra Ventures: Our Early-Stage Investment in ArmorCode
We’re excited to announce Sierra Ventures’ investment in ArmorCode’s $3M Seed Round.ArmorCode is building a next-generation Application Security Platform. Their vision is to bring security tools closer to the developers, by making it easy for a developer to identify, understand, and fix code flaws faster. Applications are the top cause of security breaches and alerts from application security tools are overwhelming security analysts. Current tools are not adequate to orchestrate and respond to these alerts in a timely manner. ArmorCode’s next-generation application security platform consolidates three key AppSec needs into a single intelligent platform that minimizes tooling and alerts while maximizing agility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The platform includes Application Security Posture Management, DevSecOps Orchestration, and Continuous Compliance. It allows application security and development teams to finally take charge of their application security again while maximizing return on investment. We’ve enjoyed getting to know ArmorCode’s founders Nikhil Gupta and Anant Misra. Both have experience in the security space and have founded companies previously. They’ve been able to achieve strong early customer traction while in stealth mode and have received positive feedback from CISOs and other executives on our CXO Advisory Board. We are excited about this investment because of the large market and the “here and now” opportunity. With software development going agile and product releases occurring daily or weekly instead of quarterly or annually, security teams are facing a challenging problem. They are expected to govern and enforce security best practices at DevOps speed. Developers, on the other hand, are now required to share the security responsibility, without having any prior formal knowledge. Software-driven digital transformation is key to achieving the agility and efficiency needed to connect DevOps and SecOps teams. We believe securing software applications in a fast, easy, and robust way will be instrumental to the success of any successful digital transformation and ArmorCode has an opportunity to disrupt the market.
