Noor Nijjer

Noor Nijjer joined Sierra Ventures in 2025 and leads Investor Relations and fundraising for the firm. Before joining Sierra, she was VP of Investor Relations at Top Tier Capital Partners. Prior to Top Tier, Noor covered finance and supported Investor Relations for a private credit firm, and gained early experience in investment banking as well as in finance and consulting roles at Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

Noor holds a BA in Business Management & Economics from UC Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Outside of work, she’s an avid reader of history, enjoys time with friends and family (and her very sociable English Labrador), and is passionate about fitness, pickleball, and improving her golf swing.

What is your favorite part about working with portfolio companies/entrepreneurs?

I love the early innings of a startup. When even though you have limited resources, you have the capability to hack ideas together quickly. The constant cadence of testing to find what works and can be repeatable.

What advice do you have for founders?

Building an operational foundation in the early-stage will pay dividends in the future as your company grows and scales. So often, I see starts that need to pay more attention to dedicating time and resources to growing their team, and it enviably leads to attrition in the future.

How do you view your role with portfolio companies?

When a founder chooses to work with Sierra it is really the start of a long-term partnership. My role with the portfolio is to help them find the resources they need to scale and grow. What do you like to do outside of work?

What is your best “life-hack”?

Non-rushed mornings - for the past 10+ years, I’ve tried to start my day in a non-rushed manner. 8 hours of sleep, a morning workout at least thrice a week, no work meetings before 9 am - all set the tone for mental calmness and a relaxed state of mind that lead to clarity of thought and mindfulness.
