The Sierra Ventures' team would like to congratulate Gerri Martin-Flickinger on becoming Starbucks' Chief Technology Officer. Gerri has been successful leading large-scale global IT organizations for companies experiencing explosive growth through acquisition, global expansion and implementing new business models; while contributing her knowledge and experience to the Sierra Ventures' CXO Advisory Board for several years.

The Sierra Ventures’ CXO Advisory Board is an invitation only group of leading CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, CMOs, COOs, CISOs and other tech savvy Fortune 1000 executives across a variety of industries and geographies, who meet regularly throughout the year to discuss business innovation, emerging technologies, key trends and insights within the Sierra Network.

Highlighting one of Gerri's contributions to the Sierra Ventures’ CXO Advisory Board, was her participation in the CIO Panel discussion "IT-as-a-Service" during the Sierra CIO Summit in 2014.  The panel discussion was moderated by Scott Ottaway, VP at 451Research Group, and included Gerri Martin-Flickinger, John Engates, CTO Rackspace and Hardie Tankersley, VP Fox Networks. Her perspective of the journey for getting IT to operate as its own entity, providing services and compete as a provider was very popular and well received with the entrepreneur and executive audience.
