Ooyala Thinks Big for 2012
Online video specialists Ooyala already powers video services for many major publishers and media firms, including Miramax, FremantleMedia and Telegraph Media group. The firm’s founding CEO and current president of product Bismarck Lepe expects more strong growth in 2012.
“2011 was a better year for Ooyala. We continued to see triple digit growth in terms of revenue and overall usage of our technology, both from publishers as well as consumers consuming content. In 2012 we expect to continue to see similar growth in the majority of our markets,” he said.
In this episode, Lepe also talks about the importance of publishers and TV firms identifying what content they can put behind a paywall and how they can maximise online revenues. He also predicts that the vast majority of what is considered TV today is going to be delivered over the web in the coming years.
